Friday the 13th (remake)

I don’t normally like remakes, but at least Friday the 13th stayed true to the Jason character. Other than that, I didn’t like any other horror movies from 2009.

MY BF and I are in our late 30’s and have had a rocky road , but with much love. We have been fighting the last few weeks and tonight we talked. He said he is happy, he is happy in our home and he loves me but he is having serious doubts. We had talked about getting engaged this year and he said he no longer wants to be on that timeline, that he now is thinking seriously about kids and he does not want to close that door ( i’m older than him and do not have much time left), he said he does not think I am the one he wants to have kids with and he is questioning if we are right for each other. He said he is very confused and doesn’t want to lose me if im the love of his life, but something is just not right with us he thinks and he just doesnt know but he loves me so much. This has turned my world upside down. It was a very calm conversation, but I am devastated. I don’t know what to do. Has anyone been here? It seems futile to even stay together with him feeling this way. Any advice so I dont go off the deep end. I dont know if I should tell him to leave until he figures it out or what to do.

I have been down that road myself and I actually have a kick a** shirt from that road trip. I know this is absolutely killing you right now but you will be fine. He just wants you to sit there and wait on him. He wants you to be his comfort zone. My suggestion is to go ahead and try your best to get most of the crying out of the way in front of him. I know easier typed than done. But you are going to have to move on. He doesn’t know what he wants and you do. More than likely he is thinking the grass is greener on the other side and it might seem like it from a distance. Even if he does make it on the other side the first thought in his mind will be "wow" I’ve never seen any grass greener then this. But that will not last long. But as far as yourself, when you hurt don’t let him know too much or he knows he has you and he will not worry about you leaving him. But that is what you sincerely need to do slowly but surely is to leave. You have to pick yourself back up off the floor and treat yourself like you are suppose to be treated. Yes, you will still hurt but not as bad as each day passes, you will still cry, but I promise it gets better each day. That is what I did I lived day by day until I quit hurting he played the joke on himself and he is the one that has to live with it everyday of his life. Not you! Smile! Someone truly loves you somewhere on this crazy planet but don’t go looking for it b/c it will come. P.S. It will really piss him off and hurt his feelings when you still have some emotion but he is expecting a lot of emotion so hold it back somewhat. Be strong! Be thankful for what you do have. Like my mother always told me it could be a lot worse than what it is. GO HAVE FUN! Best of Luck!

I watched Vacancy (horror film) now i can't sleep! I'm so scared. :(?
So yesterday evening my dad put on this movie he had taped … VACANCY! So i was watching it and enjoying it.Then SHIT.The fear came.But you know that feeling when you HAVE to watch it even though your scared? Well thats what i did … till the end.

Last night i could not sleep AT ALL.I went to bed a t 10:30 and was awake till 2:38.I had put my duvet right over my body and my head with another one on the top then i had a jacket on so i was boiling and i was sweating like mad because of the heat and the nerves.I also couldn’t breathe but i really didnt want to take the covers off.I must of fallen asleep for a bit but them woke at 3:25 with really bad ear ache and i was finding it hard to breathe..

I went to my mums bedroom and took some medicen she gave me then went back to bed.I must of been at least 4am now! I tried to sleep but i was thinking about the movie and what if they came to me! I had my mobile under my pillow switched on and a pair of scissors on my dresser just in case!! I burst into tears because i was so scared but i was really tired but i was crapping myself I went back to my mum and told her i couldnt sleep.She put me into my sisters bedroom on the visitor put up bed! I took off my jacket and got a drink … sat there for a bit to cool off then went back to sleep.I woke up again with nightmares!

I must of fallen back to sleep because it was like an angels voice when the alarm rang (which i would not of said it i was in a normal sleep routine)! I was just so glad the night was over.

But i’ll have to face it again tonight and i have 2 hours till bed and i already feel sick and nervous!

Please tell me what to do! I cnt stay up too late reading or anything because i have school tommorow. Oh , im only 13 btw.

just keep reminding yourself its just a movie and that kind of stuff never happens. if you have a tv in your room try keeping that on for extra light (it will also block out the noise so if you think you hear something it will just be the tv) try running around or working out so you’ll be more tired and be able to fall asleep! good luck:)

nextime u watch another horror film and u kant sleep at nait,i suggest u dat u trn on da radio and leave it on throughou da nait. it hlps alot cuz without any noice u just start thnking that ur gona see da ppl frm da muvie or u start hearing noises that skare u.and if da radio is on is mr kalming and it hlps u sleep,just keep da volume low,dat u kan brly hear it.oo and maybe u kan leave a nait lait on. hope it helps.:)

like i’ve read it a few time and i was looking up more information for a school project on it and one thing said that his wife left him and this was his major love tragedty in the book. But i never read that, at least i think i didn’t

Legend of Bagger Vance, The (2000)

Plot: Rannulph Junnah is the best golfer in Savannah. He’s living well and has a girl, Adele Invergordon, who’s the daughter of a wealthy landowner. The First World War starts, though, and Junnah goes to Europe to fight. The only survivor of a dangerous mission, Junnah doesn’t return to Savannah for 15 years. In 1930, he returns, and Adele’s father has already committed suicide during the Depression. Pressured by tax collectors to sell the golf course her father built to pay off debts, Adele, now older, vows to bring to Savannah the greatest match ever played on the greatest golf course, her late father’s. She’s able to round up the 2 greatest golfers of their time, Bobby Jones and Walter Hagen to play for $10,000. The townspeople insist on having “one of their own” compete also, and Rannulph Junnah is rounded up. Junnah now hangs out with bums and is an alcoholic, as he has lost his authentic swing from 15 years ago. At first he turns down the offer. He gets his old clubs and balls and starts practicing. He has lost his ability. Suddenly, Bagger Vance shows up. He offers to be Junnahs’s caddy and help him regain his “authentic swing”. He does, and Junnah agrees to play in the big match.

Anyone familiar with the filmic term "magical negro"?
I’m a film student and came across this term recently. It’s a derisory expression coined by notable film director Spike Lee, and is used to specifically connote the often racist and archaic view still held of the African-American today. Without going into too much detail, ostensibly the "magical negro", both inside and outside of the fictional realm, is a stock black character that implicitly serves to rid the white protagonist of his or her plight. A few examples of this "magical negro" may be seen in "The Defiant Ones" - Sidney Poitier; Dick Halloran in "The Shining"; Michael Clarke Duncan in "The Green Mile; Morgan Freeman in "The Shawshank Redemption"; Will Smith in "The Legend of Bagger Vance", etc.

Of course these are only a few such examples, and I would be keen to hear your own. Outside of fiction, one could argue a case for Barack-Obama as falling into this aforementioned category. Any thoughts?

Number 23, The (2007)

Plot: On his birthday, Walter Sparrow, an amiable dog-catcher, takes a call that leaves him dog bit and late to pick up his wife. She’s browsed in a bookstore, finding a blood-red-covered novel, a murder mystery with numerology that loops constantly around the number 23. The story captivates Walter: he dreams it, he notices aspects of his life that can be rendered by “23,” he searches for the author, he stays in the hotel (in room 23) where events in the novel took place, and he begins to believe it was no novel. His wife and son try to help him, sometimes in sympathy, sometimes to protect him. Slowly, with danger to himself and to his family, he closes in on the truth.
